Brunswick Isles Golf Trail signs deal with Thrifty Car Rental

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Brunswick Isles Golf Trail, located along the northern coast of South Carolina and the southern coast of North Carolina, has named Thrifty Car Rental at the Wilmington, N.C. Wilmington International Airport as the official car company of the Trail. A link to Thrifty's Web site will be added onto the Trail Web site www.brunswickislesgolftrail.com, so that golfers can easily access special Trail-related discounts on car rentals.

Three discount options will be available to golfers booking packages for the Brunswick Isles Golf Trail. Golfers can choose from a 10 percent discount, one free car class upgrade or $15 off a weekly car rental.

"The addition of this discount program from Thrifty Car Rental is just one more way Brunswick Isles Golf Trail offers added value to golfers who play the Trail," said Jack Himmelsbach of The Glens Golf Group which manages Trail courses Heather Glen and Glen Dornoch, as well as accommodations partner Village at the Glens.

"The Wilmington Airport is within minutes of the Trail and is modern, uncrowded and convenient. As more and more golfers fly into Wilmington to play the Trail, they'll discover that they can also realize savings by renting through Thrifty. From the high-caliber of our golf courses to the affordability of our accommodations packages to the added value we provide both on and off course, the Brunswick Isles Golf Trail is the best deal for any golfer looking for a great getaway."

Fourteen of the Trail courses were recently ranked in the 2010 Golf World Readers Choice Awards for the best golf experience in the nation. The three courses at Sea Trail Plantation, the four at Ocean Ridge Plantation, Glen Dornoch, Heather Glen, Oyster Bay Golf Links, Thistle Golf Club, Bald Head Island Club, Rivers Edge Golf Club and Tidewater Golf Club all received more than 75 points to make the "State by State Recognition" list.

Of the 85 North Carolina and South Carolina golf course facilities named to the prestigious "State By State Recognition" list, 14 of them are on the Brunswick Isles Golf Trail.
