TaylorMade selects KBS steel shafts for the R9 and R9-TP irons

BOULDER, Colo. -- TaylorMade-adidas Golf announced that they have selected the KBS™ steel shafts for their new high performance R9-TP and R9 irons. Both models feature a classic shape with new clubface technology developed by TaylorMade.

FST, the company developed and manufactures the premium KBS steel shafts. Global Sales Director, Rob Cheng stated, "It is gratifying to have our KBS Tour shafts selected by TaylorMade for their new high performance irons. The KBS shafts, designed by our veteran shaft designer Kim Braly, are making big inroads on tour, a fact well understood by TaylorMade who continually searches for fresh ideas to enhance club performance."

Cheng adds, "We are proud of our rise in popularity among the world's best ball strikers and the best clubmakers such as TaylorMade."

More than 30 regular players on the PGA Tour now play the KBS Tour steel iron shafts and wedge shafts. The players who have switched have been improving their world ranking and creating a tremendous amount of interest among their peers.

Manufactured by FST, the KBS Tour steel shafts incorporate high-quality precision manufacturing processes such as an exclusive oil- quench tempering system. The shafts are further enhanced with design features such as: step reductions that allow a smooth transfer of energy, a tapered tip section that provides a tour-proven feel, a higher center of gravity to allow more club head mass, and precise shaft weights and frequencies to ensure repeatability and precision club fitting.
