TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Southern Arizona Marriott Golf Invitational is celebrating its 13th year. It's time to hit the greens and once again raise funds for Tucson's most deserving charities. The tournament swings into Tucson for a fun-filled weekend starting Friday, October 23 and ends with the main golf event Saturday, October 24.
The 13th annual Marriott Southern Arizona Golf Invitational brings golfers and Tucsonans together to raise funds for four deserving Tucson charities: Children's Miracle Network®, Tucson Medical Center Foundation, Tucson Conquistadores, and Autism Source™. Since its inception, the Marriott Southern Arizona Golf Invitational has raised more than $250,000.
Every golfer and every contribution counts - more players means more funds for those in need across Southern Arizona. The resort and the signature Arnold Palmer golf course are the beautiful setting for this year's event, taking place on Friday, October 23.
Golf registration begins at 7 a.m., with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. A luncheon and awards ceremony starts at 1 p.m.
The golf event is preceded by an elegant evening gala and silent auction at JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa on Friday, October 23. This year's gala will feature a special concert from Anita Pointer, lead singer of the multi-Grammy-winning recording artists, The Pointer Sisters. The gala reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner, a live auction and concert.
Marriott International has been a sponsor of Children's Miracle Network for 26 years and is Children's Miracle Network's longest sustaining sponsor. Marriott takes pride in its long-held "spirit to serve" philosophy and has a sincere desire to help all the communities where they operate.
A table of ten for the Friday evening gala is offered at $1,000. A golf foursome is offered at $2,000, which includes a table of 10 for the evening gala on Friday, October 23.
Business sponsorships range from $3,000 to $10,000 (for a title sponsorship). These packages include player gifts, lunch, company signage, a table of 10 for the evening gala, a live auction and more, depending on the level of sponsorship.
The tournament continues to flourish year after year because of one key ingredient: its supporters. So gather your perfect foursome and tee up for charity! With the golf foursome, you'll get much more than just a round of golf. A welcome gift, lunch, and two tickets per player to the evening gala are all part of the package.
This amazing weekend can be fun for the entire family. A special Nickelodeon Getaway Weekend Rate will be offered to all Golf Invitational participants. While Mom and Dad attend the Friday evening gala, kids can be entertained with Nickelodeon games, movies and all-out fun! While Dad hits the greens the next morning, Mom and kids can enjoy a fabulous Character Breakfast with Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants.
If the Nickelodeon package is not for you, a room rate of $99 per night is available for all golf participants and gala attendees. All room packages can be booked at www.golfinvite.com/marriottgolftournament.
This year's goal of raising more than ever is within reach, as the turnout by the Tucson community is always spectacular. For registration information, please visit www.golfinvite.com/marriottgolftournament or contact Judith Caputo at (520) 670-0301.
