After a slow start on hole #18 at the AT&T National, the Kodak Challenge action really heated up over the final three rounds at Congressional Country Club this past weekend. While Chris DiMarco kept one step ahead of the Kodak Challenge field for the fifth straight week, a large group of pros took advantage of hole # 18 at Congressional Country Club to move closer to the lead.
Goydos & Letzig Join Group Tied for Second with Sunday Birdies
Chris DiMarco kept one step ahead of the Kodak Challenge field for the fifth straight week. DiMarco has a lot of company atop the Kodak Challenge leaderboard thanks to a busy weekend of action on hole #18 at AT&T National. Despite playing as the 7th most difficult hole of the AT&T National tournament, a large group of pros took advantage of hole # 18 at Congressional Country Club to move closer to the lead. DiMarco, who briefly shared the lead atop the Kodak Challenge with Nicholas Thompson on Friday, remains in first at 9-under par. Thompson is tied for second at 8-under-par with Nathan Green, Kevin Streelman, Paul Goydos and Michael Letzig. Goydos and Letzig both joined the group in second with birdies on #18 during the final round of play on Sunday.
Kodak Challenge play at AT&T National saw to two exciting recoveries from early bogies from Kevin Streelman and Michael Letzig. Since the Kodak Challenge captures a golfer's best score of a tournament, Streelman's and Letzig's later round birdies wiped out earlier bogie scores and moved them up two full places into the second place tie at 8-under par.
The Kodak Challenge continues this week at the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL beginning July 9.

About the Kodak Challenge Hole: #18
One of Congressional Country Club's signature holes, #18 on the Blue Course sets up perfectly for a long, right-to-left tee shots. Pros are cautious though, as a shot too far right can find trouble in a think grove of cedars. Bunkers right of the green combined with water on three sides makes this par 4 among the tougher holes in the tournament.
