Seventeen year old Tarheel Junior Golf Tour member Katherine Perry of Cary, NC shot 141 (3-under par) at Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake Course) in Sanford, NC to take medalist honors and qualify to play in the US Women's Open July 6-12 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA. Earlier this year Perry, the top ranked girls' junior in NC, won the Tarheel Junior Golf Tour's Callaway Junior World Qualifying Tournament at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club in Chapel Hill. The Carolina Trace Country Club Lake Course is also the host course of the Tarheel Golf Foundation's Annual Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship.
