Andy Know captures win at North Carolina Junior Championship

Andy Knox has been playing solid golf in 2009 and he continued his string of sound play winning the 42nd North Carolina Junior Championship at Henderson Country Club on June 19. Knox, a Tarheel Junior Golf Tour member, won the Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship at Carolina Trace Country Club in April to earn exemption into the Joe Cheves Junior Invitational, at Mimosa Hills, in September and he won The Rex Hospital Junior Championship in May to earn entry into the Nationwide Tour event at TPC Wakefield Plantation where he shot even par for 36 holes before missing the cut.

Knox's string of winning started at the Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, NC. His confident play continues to build with each success. A rising high school senior he has committed to play his college golf at UNC-Greensboro.

The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour holds nationally-ranked thirty six hole golf tournaments on weekends from September-May. Events are open to boys and girls ages 18 & under. The tour has 500 members and membership is open. Current members represent players from across the USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and South Africa.
