Jim McLean announces opening new restaurant at his Texas school

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Nationally regarded PGA golf instructor Jim McLean takes great care that his students learn the mechanics of the swing, bring a proper mental approach to the game and adhere to a well-rounded exercise program. Now he's also encouraging them to follow a dietary regimen to reshape their appetite and stay healthy on and off the course.

To illustrate his point that sound nutrition makes for a more well-rounded golfer, McLean and Back9Fitness® have opened Fitness Fare Cafe, a 52-seat restaurant located at McLean's highly-popular Jim McLean Golf Center in Fort Worth.

Open to McLean's students and clients as well as the general public, Fitness Fare Cafe, according to Chef Eric Tonips, will feature healthy, well-balanced, nutritious meals and smoothies made from the freshest ingredients.

"We will use all natural and organic ingredients as much possible," said Tonips, a Certified Culinarian through the Texas Chef's Association, American Culinary Federation. Tonips is also the home clubhouse chef for the Texas Rangers, as well as a personal chef to several professional athletes and corporate executives.

Tonips will be employing his Fitness Fare, an all-in-one culinary concept that takes the guesswork out of fitness nutrition.

According to Justin Poynter, Director of Instruction and General Manager, Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas is regarded as the #1 school in the US, featuring a unique 14,000-square-foot Performance Center established to work on the mind as well as the body to optimize success on the course.

"The restaurant is the natural progression in our multi-dimensional approach to working with students," said Poynter.
