In this week's podcast, host Dave Berner talks to golf course architect Ron Garl about his new, award-winning design in China, The Admirals Club at Nine Dragons Golf Resort.

"It's a very unusual piece of land because we've got some really nice beaches; and then we've got some cliffs; and then we've got mountains," Garl says. "So we've got a great combination of what you'd like to have when you start the design work."

Kiel Christianson talks about the Evans Scholarship program.

"The idea was to help kids who had worked as caddies at various golf courses go to college," Christianson says. "So far the program has been able to distribute around $100 million to students."

PGA Hall of Fame member Gary Wiren - director of instruction for Donald Trump Golf Properties and founder of Golf Around the World - says focus is the key to good golf.

"First of all, it's very difficult to do it for 18 holes like Ben Hogan did," Wiren says. "Most [players] play the in and out game, which means they have a tight focus, and then they have a light focus."
