Inaugural Orange County Golf Championship preparing to tee off

Mike Bova, Founder of the Orange County Golf Championship, a highly influential and prestigious juniors golf tournament, announced that the anticipated event is slated for next Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Oak Creek Golf Course, in Irvine, California.

The inaugural Orange County Golf Championship is a prominent golf tournament created to gather the top 144 golfers from all over Orange County, California. These talented golfers both women and gentlemen will be playing in a stroke play format to capture the coveted title, "Orange County High School Player of the Year."

Bova and his team invited Varsity golfers who shoot 80 or less on a consistent basis. This firm standard ensures that only the highest quality candidates can participate. Personal invitations were sent to golf coaches from over 66 high schools of which over 40 are represented in the tournament.

"This impressive event was developed to showcase our county's best golfers but also to expose these athletes to the media, to collegiate coaches, and to one of the finest golf courses in Orange County, Oak Creek Golf Course," said Bova. "Additionally, we have golf equipment, apparel, accessories, and more who have contributed to the success of the day."

Collegiate coaches from California, particularly those from the Pac-10 will be in attendance. They will be provided specially developed packages as well as score cards from the participants. The objective is to provide an opportunity for both the players and coaches. Local media support is anticipated and welcomed.
