Golf Channel's Live From the U.S. Open prepares for broadcast

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Golf Channel's Live From the U.S. Open, produced in high definition, will take viewers inside the ropes at Bethpage State Park's Black Course in New York with 25 hours of live news reports, inside analysis and compelling features in delivering comprehensive, wrap-around live news coverage of the men's second major championship of 2009.

Live From the U.S. Open coverage kicks off Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET with pre-tournament news conferences from Bethpage Black. Host Kelly Tilghman will be joined by the network's team of reporters and analysts on-site at Bethpage from 6 - 8 p.m. ET. Wednesday's Live From the U.S. Open coverage will feature news conferences from 2-4 p.m. ET, followed by a two-hour preview show from 6-8 p.m. ET.

Thursday and Friday, beginning at 8 a.m. ET and Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, Live From the U.S. Open will preview each round, featuring player interviews, analysis, and up-to-the-minute leader board updates.

Prime time coverage will air at 8 p.m. ET Thursday - Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with a break down of each round. Each prime-time Live From the U.S. Open show will re-air throughout the night all week.

The Live From the U.S. Open team will include Vince Cellini, Kraig Kann, Rich Lerner, Steve Sands, Kelly Tilghman, Frank Nobilo, Brandel Chamblee, Charlie Rymer, Alex Miceli, John Feinstein, Jim Gray, John Hawkins, Tim Rosaforte and Rex Hoggard. Kann and Rymer will host the early Live From shows Thursday and Friday from the network studios in Orlando. Peter Jacobsen will join Friday's early Live From coverage, and 1986 U.S. Open champion Raymond Floyd will appear on Saturday's early Live From the U.S. Open show.

In addition, GolfChannel.com's team of writers will contribute to the popular Shag Bag blog with entries and posts throughout the week, along with daily columns, news articles features and breaking news. Hoggard, Jay Coffin, Randall Mell and David Allen will report on-site from Bethpage Black throughout the week.
