Cristie Kerr carries Scratch Wedges in Michelob Ultra Open win

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Cristie Kerr finally broke into the winner's circle in 2009 at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill and she carried two Scratch Golf wedges with her. Her victory is the first LPGA championship for the company.

Kerr put a 54-degree DOG grind (bent to 52-degrees) and a 60-degree SPN grind (bent to 58-degrees) in the bag prior to the start of the season. Including Sunday's victory, Kerr has six top-10 finishes in her eight starts, including a runner-up finish at the season's first major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship. The win at Kingsmill vaults her to number one on the season money list with more than $700,000 in earnings.

"Cristie Kerr is one of the premier golfers in the world and we are honored that she chose to put our wedges in her bag," said Ari Techner, president and CEO of Scratch Golf. "She is having an incredible year and we can only hope that this is the first of many victories in 2009 for Christie and Scratch."

In 2008, Scratch had multiple top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour and was in the bag of two winners on the Nationwide Tour (Bank of America Open and Nationwide Tour Players Cup), both of whom were part of "The 25" and graduated to the PGA Tour in 2009.

Scratch wedges are in play on every major professional tour worldwide, including the PGA, Champions, Nationwide, LPGA, Futures, Hooters, Tarheel, Gateway, European PGA, European Challenge and European LPGA Tours.
