Kelly Tilghman and friends brings golf to U.S. troops in Middle East on GOLF CHANNEL special

ORLANDO, Fla. -- In a one-of-a-kind production that chronicles Kelly Tilghman's visit to Iraq and Kuwait, GOLF CHANNEL will reveal how through golf, U.S. troops enjoyed an entertaining taste of home while providing Tilghman and her companions a life-changing experience.

Airing May 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET, Operation Links will chronicle Tilghman's journey of discovery, understanding and gratitude during the USO Tour. Joining her on the journey, which was filmed over the 2008 Thanksgiving holiday, were CBS Sports' David Feherty, PGA TOUR winners Howard Twitty and Donnie Hammond, long drive champions Art Sellinger and Brian Pavlet and award-winning illustrator Victor Juhasz.

"It was an honor to spend the holidays with the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect our freedom," said Tilghman, the daughter of a Vietnam veteran.

Operation Links will document the tour's mission, which delivered a touch of home and boosted morale in the war-torn region. Visiting more than a dozen military installations and hospitals in Kuwait and Iraq, the group hit golf balls with the troops, conducted entertaining clinics and shared both light-hearted and moving golf stories.

"These are the most professional, most incredible people I have ever been around," said Feherty, who was making his second Operation Links USO Tour. "Of all of the things I have done in sports and broadcasting, nothing has given me a greater sense of satisfaction."
