The PGA of America’s Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Program continued to surpass records by awarding scholarships totaling $362,000 to 166 students. A record 422 applications were received this year.

Founded in 1986, the PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Program has awarded more than $2.8 million to 1,639 students. The program encourages and promotes the attainment of higher education goals for children and grandchildren of PGA members.

Funding for these scholarships is made possible through voluntary contributions to the PGA Financial Assistance Fund -- a tax-deductible 501(c)(3) fund -- from PGA members and other donors.

Celebrating its 90th anniversary, The PGA of America was founded in 1916, and is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the game of golf, while continuing to enhance the standards of the profession. The Association is comprised of more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals who are dedicated to growing participation in the game of golf.
