Golf architect Robert McNeil talks with Where To Play Golf Radio

SAUNDERSTOWN, R.I. -- Robert McNeil, Principal Architect at the Northeast Golf Company sat down with Where To Play Golf Radio host Michael Stewart recently to discuss the state of the golf industry.

McNeil's trip to the annual Golf Industry Show in New Orleans was a sobering experience that led him to develop a list of practical thoughts and suggestions to enable golf clubs to separate themselves from their competition.

"Golfers may be leaving their home clubs in these trying economic times but they are not leaving the game of golf. They will still be playing 30 or more rounds somewhere. The municipal and daily fee clubs that can keep themselves viable and in a condition that is acceptable to this group of players should see an increase in business," said McNeil.

"Overtime, features wear, strategies change, technology advances, competition gains, history is lost and all these have an effect on the overall golf facility."

"How these are addressed can be the difference between a positive growth year and one that is very challenging," added McNeil.
