PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Dixie PGA Section President Bud Rousey presented the University of West Florida with a check for $30,000 on behalf of Boo Weekley, as part of the 2008 Ryder Cup Outreach Program for the Play Golf America University Program at the University. The presentation took place March 27 (Friday) at the Argonaut Athletic Club. The UWF men's and women's golf teams were in attendance, as well as UWF Athletics staff and friends.

In 2008, the victorious U.S. Ryder Cup Team and Captain Paul Azinger made a $2.6 million donation in support of charities and veteran's families, including a $1.17 million donation to Play Golf America University programs. Each member of the Ryder Cup Team donated to schools and charities, and Weekley, a Milton High School graduate, chose to donate $30,000 to UWF.
