A cost-effective, portable golf club repair system for any size repair facility such as in pro-shops or golf specialty stores is now available from KC Specialty Products, Inc. of Plano, TX.
The Silencer System is specifically designed to stop club rattle that often occurs from contaminates falling into the club head during shaft repair. The resulting noise could affect ones game. The system works by extruding a specially designed, permanently sticky adhesive called Rattle Stop™ into the club head. Rattle Stop™ can also be used to adjust weight distribution in the club to help with the swing.
As a replacement for higher cost technical equipment or free flowing adhesives typically found in a bottle, the key parts of The Silencer™ System are a specifically formulated adhesive and uniquely designed applicator. The gun applies the adhesive into the club head through a specially designed extension
nozzle placed into the club head.
Once applied, the adhesive stays in the golf club with no migration and remains flexible and tacky. If weight distribution adjustment is required, simply reheat the head and adjust the weight distribution to fit your needs.
Using The Silencer System
The Silencer™ System kit includes a 50 gram aluminum cartridge of adhesive, a glue gun to dispense the adhesive into the club, a base on which to store the gun, an applicator nozzle assembly consisting of a nozzle cap and nozzle extension and a non-stick silicone mat to protect the surface area where the repair is being done.
Before using The Silencer™ System, the adhesive in the cartridge has to warm up for 10 to 15 minutes until it reaches a temperature of about 266˚F. A
green diode appears when the system is ready for use. Very little training is required to use the system.
Before applying the adhesive, remove the club head from the shaft and heat it with a heat gun for easier application of the adhesive. Then position the nozzle of the gun into the club head hosel and dispense the desired amount of adhesive into the club head. This is done by gently squeezing the trigger on the gun. Trigger pressure regulates the flow of the adhesive placed into the club head. For accurate measurement of the weight added, place the club head on a scale and monitor the application until it reaches the desired weight. When the trigger is released, the clean shut off helps to minimize dripping.
After the adhesive has been applied, the adhesive cools for 45 to 90 seconds. The glue gun can be stored on the base stand or the system can be turned off.
If the adhesive on the head needs readjustment at a later time, reheat the head, rotate it to the proper placement position and let the adhesive cool.
Then apply a new layer of adhesive to the head if required.
The steel melt chamber of the glue applicator is highly efficient at 500 Watts. A 6-foot rubber sheathed power cord comes standard with the unit for flexibility.
Suggested retail price for The Silencer System is $249.99.
Replacement cartridges are available for $9.99 from distributors in the U.S., Canada and worldwide.
