Basin Harbor Club in Vt. welcomes Doug Slusser as new golf pro

VERGENNES, Vt. (May 15, 2006) -- The Basin Harbor Club welcomed their new
Golf Pro, Doug Slusser, to the Resort's 18-hole championship golf course this
spring.

Slusser is a PGA Professional and comes from the mountains of North Carolina
where he spent eleven years at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club near Highlands,
North Carolina. His love of golf began at an early age and was cultivated by
his father, who was the General Chairman for both the American Golf Classic
and the World Series of Golf.

"My vision for Basin Harbor Club is to uphold the traditions that guests and
members have come to expect, and to introduce new programs that keep the
golf experience here fresh and exciting," said Slusser.

Many new initiatives are planned, including new organized golf events to pair
up players and offer a fun format of competition, golf schools utilizing state-
of-the-art techniques and technologies, clinics for players of all skill levels
with special opportunities for kids. Several demo days have been scheduled
with major club manufacturers, and tournaments and events for guests and
members run with keen attention to detail and professionalism.

Established in 1927 on converted farmland, the Basin Harbor Golf Course is an
18-hole championship course. Players are treated to stunning scenery and
glimpses of local wildlife. Winding through the gently rolling hills of Champlain
Valley, the course follows natural woods and open areas. At more than 6,500
yards, the expansive and demanding course features small and medium
contoured greens, 48 bunkers, and bent-grass turf. A putting green, driving
range and practice fairway also complement the course.

The Basin Harbor Club offers a number of golf packages including "Golf and
Relax," featuring unlimited greens fees, breakfast daily, a meal at the Red Mill,
and a ½ hour neck and shoulder massage, and "Just Play Golf" which includes
accommodations and greens fees.

Basin Harbor Club was established in 1886 by Ardelia Beach and has remained
family owned for 120 years. Today, guests are greeted by fourth generation
hosts, Pennie Beach and Robert H. Beach, Jr. Originally a 225-acre working
farm catering to summer boarders, the resort has expanded to cover 700
acres of Vermont's most pristine land along the shores of Lake Champlain,
encompassing the main lodge, cottages, a private golf course, spectacular
gardens, a 3,200 foot grass airstrip, and the Lake Champlain Maritime
Museuman organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of
Lake Champlain. For more information, please visit www.basinharbor.com or
