Powermetal Technologies names Hoeflich to advisory board

CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 1, 2006) -- PowerMetal Technologies, Inc. President and CEO Edward Hughes today announced that well known golf club designer John Hoeflich has been named to the company’s advisory board. Mr. Hoeflich has designed many successful clubs for some of the industry leading companies.

Mr. Hoeflich’s extensive experience in golf club designs incorporating new developments in materials will be valuable as PowerMetal expands offerings in the golf industry. As an Advisory Board member, he will counsel the product development team on club designs that can best leverage the unique properties of the company’s revolutionary nanometal.

“John’s talent in developing new club designs that incorporate advanced materials is key to his involvement with PowerMetal,” said Hughes. “His design and shaping expertise will allow us to provide to our customers unique designs that leverage our nanotechnology.”

Mr. Hoeflich has held Senior Design positions at TaylorMade, and is the past President of LiquidMetal Golf. He has helped developed such clubs as the Tommy Armour 845 irons, Titleist DCI irons and TaylorMade RAC irons and wedges. Golfweek Magazine called him the King of Clubs, and he currently holds 13 U.S. patents for golf club design.

“PowerMetal’s ability to create new alloys, that have breakthrough material properties, could signal the start of the next generation of new designs similar to the impact titanium over a decade ago.” said Hoeflich. “Working with this new material will expand design parameters and allow companies to make far better offerings for the novice golfer and Tour professional alike.”
