One of the key highlights for Nike Golf in 2008 was its exceptional performance in the PGA Tour's major championships with Nike athletes winning two of the four. In the first major championship of the year at The Masters Tournament, Nike Golf athletes posted a 1-2-3 finish with Immelman taking home the green jacket and Woods and Cink placing second and third, respectively. For Immelman's victory, he used Nike's new groundbreaking STR8-FIT technology that is found in the new SQ DYMO STR8-FIT (pronounced "straight-fit") driver, which will be available on April 1, 2009. The revolutionary SQ DYMO STR8-FIT driver features a choice of eight club head positions that can dramatically or subtly perfect ball flight.

The U.S. Open at Torrey Pines went down in the history books as an unforgettable performance by Woods, who won with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a double stress fracture in his knee. During that performance, Woods used Nike Golf's new Victory Red wedge for his amazing chip on the 17th hole during his third round. In addition to his U.S. Open title, Woods captured three other PGA Tour victories for a total of four wins in 2008.

Kim produced a year that represented a dazzling rise to stardom by winning two PGA Tour events and demonstrating an extremely competitive and triumphant performance at the Ryder Cup. Cink grabbed his first PGA Tour victory since 2004 at the Travelers Championship; K.J. Choi won early in the season at the Sony Open; Leonard grabbed his second St. Jude Championship title; and Carl Pettersson won the Wyndham Championship. En route to each of their successful seasons, the triumphant Nike Golf athletes played with award-winning SasQuatch Drivers, Nike irons, Nike ONE balls, and were clad in Nike Golf apparel, the number one golf apparel company in the world, as well as Nike Golf footwear featuring Nike's Power Platform technology.

Another event that gained a lot of attention this year was the Ryder Cup in which Nike Golf had five athletes in the field, including Kim, Leonard, Cink, Chad Campbell and Paul Casey. The captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team was Nike Golf athlete, Paul Azinger. The U.S Ryder Cup Team was outfitted in apparel designed by Nike Golf specifically for the weather conditions of Valhalla.
