HOBE SOUND, Fla. -- Coral Creek Club, a private club which features a world-class, Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole championship golf course and a spectacular new clubhouse located across the causeway from Gasparilla Island and Boca Grande, today announced it has earned the distinction of "Top Five New Private Clubhouse" in Golf Inc. Magazine's annual Clubhouse of the Year competition.
According to Golf Inc.'s November/December 2008 article entitled "Remarkable Cluhouses," the top five clubhouses were chosen on the basis of overall design concept, aesthetics and efficiency. Each clubhouse in its own way was thought to be successfully designed to fit its specific market niche, reflecting a strong sense of community vital for success in today's highly competitive golf world. Clubhouse submissions were considered from across the U.S. and worldwide, including entries from the United Kingdom, Caribbean and Canada.
"Coral Creek Club is honored to be given the prestigious distinction as one of the top five new private clubhouses in the world by Golf Inc.," said Michael Zmetrovich, CEO, Trophy Golf & Resorts. "It is extremely gratifying because we set out to create a classic "Old Florida" look and feel. We're thrilled the new clubhouse at Coral Creek Club stood out among the competition and we are especially proud for it to be recognized by this leading industry publication."
Sebonack Golf Club (Southampton, NY) and The Club at Carlton Woods-Tom Fazio Championship Course (The Woodlands, TX) are indicative of the quality of the top five new clubhouses also honored in the private club category by Golf Inc.
The classic architectural lines of Coral Creek Club's new clubhouse reflect the essence and polish of a turn-of-the-century "Old Florida" world-class club. The 17,000 square-foot clubhouse accentuates both indoor and outdoor spaces, offering members and guests panoramic views of the impeccably maintained golf course and the surrounding 6,000-acre nature preserve.
Award-winning, Atlanta-based designer, Jacquelynne P. Lanham, designed the interior of the clubhouse for the ease and comfort of members and guests. Lanham is best known for bringing to life an understated southern elegance look and feel.
The clubhouse's stunning interior boasts a comfortable, cottage-like feel with a refined ambiance, specially commissioned art, and rich, solid wood ceilings and floors. Large, custom-built wood moldings provide a stunning architectural accent throughout the clubhouse. Decorative brushed cypress wood graces the ceilings in the dining room and bar, as well as on the walls and ceiling of the men's locker room, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The sweeping outdoor deck and gazebo feature Brazilian ipe hardwood. Century old, reclaimed, heart-of-pine, antique hardwood floors adorn the living room and foyer, and 1,000-pound, heart-of-pine beams cross overhead in the men's lounge. The old-world bar was specially built from antique, ebonized oak, providing a cozy retreat in which to relax and enjoy the spirit and camaraderie of members and guests.
The clubhouse dining room and outdoor gazebo offer fine cuisine in a relaxed, yet sophisticated environment where members and guests can enjoy a memorable dining experience and an exclusive level of service.
In addition, the clubhouse also includes richly appointed, full-service men's and ladies locker rooms each with their own lounge and card rooms. The elegant ladies locker room is bright and airy and contains small collections of lockers to enhance privacy. The men's card room showcases a custom copper bar and comfortable club chairs. Both locker rooms feature custom-made, hand-painted tournament boards and generous use of marble.
