Kiel Christianson: BogeyPro Golf - the court jesters of golf gear

I've been Equipment Editor around here for a while now, and some of my colleagues have at times insinuated that I might take golf equipment a bit too seriously.

This is a grossly unfair assault on my character. So what if I can talk for hours on the benefits of a 58-degree wedge, the relative merits of various golf bag strap systems, or bamboo vs. polyester fiber golf shirts?

To prove my point, I would like to direct your attention to BogeyPro Golf. The guys at this upstart Minnesota golf equipment company are the self-appointed court jesters of golf. Their innovative and inventive products include apparel, bags, balls, and golf novelties, all of which celebrate the vain pursuit of perfection in golf.

Heck, they celebrate the nearly complete futility of golf that most of us experience each time we bumble out onto the course.

My new favorites are their pint glasses ($10 each, see below) and BogeyPro's exclusive line of REALLY obnoxious golf shorts and pants ($70-$90, see farther below).

This is the sort of stuff that makes golf fun, even on a bad day. And the sort of stuff even an equipment geek can love.
