Real estate consultant Jon Fahning joins with Lohmann Companies

MARENGO, Ill. -- The Lohmann Companies have added accomplished real estate consultant Jon Fahning as a business development advisor, to assist the nationally acclaimed golf course design and construction firm grow its design and construction businesses in the Western United States.

"I have known Bob Lohmann for many years and have always been very impressed with the quality of his company's work," said Fahning, who will focus generating leads for and promoting Lohmann's golf design and sports field businesses. "The West is a relatively untapped market for his firm. Even though the economy is in a unique situation, this a great time to be marketing our capabilities and services, as there are opportunities in the marketplace."

Fahning has been involved with many high-profile development projects including the extensive renovation to Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco (scheduled to host several professional tournaments in the coming decade, including the next President's Cup), Royal Dunes in southern Arizona, the University of Phoenix stadium (site of the 2008 Super Bowl), Chase Field (home of baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks) and Verrado, a 9,000-acre master-planned golf community outside Phoenix.

Fahning has 15-plus years of progressive achievement in real estate development and improving a project's profitability, performance, and value. He is founder and president of Diversified Development Services LLC, a suburban Phoenix-based consulting firm focused on solutions-based services within the real estate development, leasing, design, and construction communities. His industry and client experience includes: residential, commercial, retail, and land development organizations; design and implementation firms; manufacturing and distribution corporations; and local, state, and federal government.

Fahning is a 1992 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and Land Planning (BLA), with an emphasis in urban planning and real estate development. He is involved with many professional organizations including the American Society of Landscape Architects, International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, Sports Turf Managers Association and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

Last year Lohmann unveiled Blackstone GC north of Chicago, an acclaimed follow-up to Canyata, a stunning 18-hole golf club in Marshall, Ill., which earned second place in Golf Digest's Best New Private Course rankings for 2005. Golf Digest honored another 2005 opening, Mattaponi Springs Golf Club just north of Richmond, Va., with second place in its Best New Upscale Public category.

Lohmann and Golf Creations have also lent their renovation expertise to more than 60 courses across the country. Their work on The Traditions at Chevy Chase in Wheeling, Ill., was recently honored by Golf Inc. magazine as the nation's best course renovation for 2003. Golf Creations recently finished up its construction of the Nicklaus-designed course at Fyre Lake National Golf Club & Marina in Sherrard, Ill.

Lohmann Sports Fields recently completed two high-profile projects at the University of Notre Dame, resurfacing the famed gridiron at Notre Dame Stadium and building from scratch the new softball field on the South Bend campus.
