PRINCEVILLE, Kauai, Hawaii --The Prince Golf Course at Kauai's north shore Princeville Resort has received the only five-star rating in Hawaii in the new 2008/2009 rankings of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play." The directory ranks golf courses around the world from one to five stars, based on players' reviews. The Prince, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. masterpiece, is the only Hawaii golf course to receive the top 5-star rating.
In addition, the Prince Course was recently ranked number twenty on the 2008/2009 list of Golf magazine's "Top 100 Courses You Can Play" in the United States, and named one of the "Top 20 U.S. Golf Courses" on Celebrated Living magazine's Reader's Choice Platinum List.
The 18-hole Prince Course has for the past several years been ranked by Golf Digest as Hawaii's number one golf course and is the only course in the State of Hawaii to be recognized on Golf Digest's 2007-2008 list of America's "Top 100 Greatest Courses." Known equally for its challenging play and magnificent layout following the natural contours of the land, the Prince is unquestionably one of the most memorable courses a golfer will ever play, encompassing 390 acres of rolling terrain, tropical jungles, gullies, streams and waterfalls. The Prince's 13-acre practice facility includes a 1,200-square-foot putting green and a 1,200-square-foot chipping green. Adjoining the course is the 60,000-square-foot Prince Clubhouse, including a golf shop, full-service restaurant, and spa.
Princeville's Makai Course is undergoing renovation, but the Prince Course is not affected by the renovation and is continuing with "business as usual." The Prince Course has just introduced a new two-day golf package, offering two rounds on the Prince within a seven-day period. The price is $265, a substantial savings off the regular green fee of $200 per round, through December 31.
The Prince also continues to offer its popular golf and spa combination package through 2008. The versatile Tease For Two package is designed for two people--one who wants to enjoy a round of golf and one who would prefer to luxuriate with a massage at the Princeville Spa, situated in the Prince Clubhouse. The package can also be used by an individual who wants to enjoy both golf and a massage, or--with the purchase of two packages--a couple can indulge in a round of golf and a massage for each of them. The golf and spa services do not have to take place on the same day.
Tease for Two includes: one 18-hole round of golf on the Prince course, including shared cart, bottled water, same-day use of practice facility and a souvenir logo ball; a 50-minute massage at the spa with a choice of aromatherapy, lomi lomi, shiatsu, sports or Swedish massage therapies; and a day pass for both individuals to use the spa facilities, including private locker, exercise classes, weight room, 25-meter lap pool, outdoor whirlpool, dry sauna and steam room. Price for the Tease for Two package, for one or two people, is $249, including tax and a gratuity for the massage. This package is offered through December 31, 2008; some blackout dates may apply.
