LPGA State Farm Classic announces the dates for its '09 event

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- LPGA State Farm Classic officials today announced the 34th annual event will be played from June 4-7, 2009, at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield.

"The 2008 LPGA State Farm Classic was another great success for the community as well as charities in the area, and we are well into our planning for the 2009 event," said LPGA State Farm Classic Executive Director Kate Peters. "The earlier June dates will enable us to tap into a great part of the LPGA season when players are gearing up for the season's second major, the McDonald's LPGA Championship, which is the week immediately after our event."

Ji Young Oh won the 33rd edition of the LPGA State Farm Classic in July, making a tap-in par putt on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to beat LPGA rookie Yani Tseng and become the sixth Rolex First-Time Winner of the 2008 LPGA Tour season.
