SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. -- Representatives of Dataw Island Club recognized Lori Murdaugh for her 25 years of service. Currently serving as controller of Dataw Island Club and Dataw Island Owners Association and the broker-in-charge for the Dataw Island Owners Association, Murdaugh began her career at Dataw in 1983 as an accounting specialist.
Murdaugh began working at Dataw through the original developer of Dataw Island, Alcoa South Carolina, Inc. After three years as an accounting specialist, she was promoted to accounting manager in 1986, and in 1989 became the controller of Alcoa South Carolina, Dataw Island Realty, Dataw Island Owners Association and Dataw Island Club. She has served in her current role since 2007, when Alcoa South Carolina and Dataw Island Realty ceased operations on Dataw Island. In addition, she has twice served as the interim general manager of Dataw Island.
A native of Beaufort, S.C., Murdaugh is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
