Golf Inc. Conference keeps adding to impressive list of speakers

Top executives representing the PGA of America, the National Golf Course Owners Association and the American Society of Golf Course Architects will join Golf Course Superintendents Association of America CEO Mark Woodward as speakers at the upcoming Golf Inc. Conference Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"Attendees will learn the best practices, latest trends and innovative ideas from these leaders," said Jack Crittenden, publisher of Golf Inc. "We are getting so many of the top industry leaders because the Golf Inc. Conference has become the primary event for discussing the critical issues that impact golf."

CEO Joe Steranka and current president Brian Whitcomb will represent the PGA. The NGCOA will be represented by current president Charlie Birney. ASGCA Executive Director Chad Ritterbusch and current president Bruce Charlton also will speak when golf industry leaders and attendees convene at the Camelback Inn & Resort at the end of this month.

Whitcomb will participate in the first of the two Critical Issues panels presented during the conference, the first focusing on course maintenance and operating costs, at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Birney and Charlton, president of Robert Trent Jones II, will speak on the second Critical Issues panel, focusing on the water crisis for golf, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

"We have created an environment where people who care about the future of this industry can meet, share ideas, and creatively brainstorm a better future," Crittenden said. The conference will feature 33 educational sessions and two expanded evening events, complete with networking and live entertainment.

Steranka will join panelists Jim Hinckley of Century Golf Partners, Joe Munsch of EAGLE Golf and Henry DeLozier of Global Golf Advisors on the State of the Industry panel on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. Ritterbusch will coordinate the ASGCA-sponsored Remodeling University program on Monday, Sept. 29.
