During the Hispanic Heroes Luncheon, awards for Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year and Community Leader of the Year will be presented. In addition, Hall of Fame golfer Nancy Lopez will be honored at the luncheon with a Hispanic Heroes Award for being a Hispanic pioneer who broke down barriers allowing Hispanic women to realize their dreams of becoming a professional golfer.
Lopez is best known for her 48 career victories on the LPGA Tour -- three of them major wins at the LPGA Championship. Lopez has also garnered numerous awards including being named Female Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA) from 1978-79 and in 1985, in addition to being named "Golfer of the Decade" by GOLF Magazine for the years 1978-'87 during the Centennial of Golf in America celebration in 1988. Lopez was inducted into the PGA World Golf Hall of Fame in November 1989. In April 2003, Lopez was named to Hispanic Business magazine's list of 80 Elite Hispanic Women.
The ADT Championship has commissioned a unique collectible ticket featuring Nancy Lopez that all attendees of the Hispanic Heroes Luncheon will receive. In addition to the collectible ticket, attendees will receive one Good Any Day ticket to the 2008 ADT Championship, November 18-23 at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
