PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Legendary Gary Player and two-time PGA Champion Dave Stockton have boosted the major Champion roster to 22, as the field is nearing completion for the 67th Senior PGA Championship, May 25-28, 2006, at Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
Player, 70, and a pioneer in golf fitness, will be making his 21st appearance in the oldest and most prestigious event in senior golf. The winner of nine major Championships, including PGA Championships in 1962 and 1972, Player went on win Senior PGA Championships in 1986, 1988 and 1990.

Stockton, 64, will make his 13th Senior PGA Championship appearance. He captured the 1970 and 1976 PGA Championships and was also a victorious U.S. Captain in the 1991 Ryder Cup.
The Senior PGA Championship will make its first appearance in Oklahoma, at the Pete Dye-designed course which hosted the 1988 PGA Championship, won by Jeff Sluman. Oak Tree Golf Club will test a field of 156 of the world’s premier senior players. The final field will be determined May 15, 2006.
Overall, the 22 major Champions in the field have combined to win 60 major Championships.

The Senior PGA Championship was begun in 1937 at Augusta National Golf Club, at the invitation of legendary Bobby Jones, and has since featured the game’s legendary stars that have reached the age of 50.
