NICOSIA, Cyprus (March 31, 2006) -- Hansgrohe Group, one of the leading innovators in the international sanitary industry, is the main sponsor for the 5th Cyprus Men’s and Ladies Amateur Open Championship which will be held from April 28 – 30, respectively May 12-14, at the Secret Valley Golf Course in Paphos.
The championship will be decided by Stroke Play in a 3-day event over 54 holes to be played at Secret Valley Golf Club. There will be a cut after the first two rounds; the leading 60 players will progress to the final round. The remainder will, on the third day, compete for Cyprus Amateur Open Plate at Tsada Golf Club. The player with the lowest gross score over 54 holes will be the Cyprus Amateur Open Champion. In the event of a tie for the Championship, there will be an immediate “sudden death” play-off over holes 1, 8 and 9.

Under the contract with the Cyprus Golf Federation Hansgrohe Group will retain the title and sponsorship for three consecutive years.
