Young golfers showcase their talent in Drive, Chip & Putt in Ariz.

Glendale youngsters turned out at Desert Mirage Golf Course to learn about the game of golf and test their golf skills at Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt presented by The Golf Channel on Saturday, April 1, 2006. .

A fun, positive competition for kids ages 7-14, a total of 18 prizes were awarded in each of four age groups – one to each of the top five in driving, chipping and putting, as well as the top three rankings for the best combined performance.

“We witnessed some outstanding performances from these young golfers, but at the end of the day I think everyone who participated was a winner,” said Mutual of Omaha General Manager George Salvador.

Best Combined Performance (each qualifies for the High Desert Regional Championship on Saturday, April 1, 2006 and the chance to advance to the 2006 National Championships this October)

The world’s largest junior golf program of its kind, Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt provides a free, fun and friendly opportunity for boys and girls to compete, develop and test their golf skills. In 2006 the program will visit 105 North America cities and will culminate with the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt National Championships in October.
