Wan Din wins JTI golf event

KUALA LUMPUR, – Oct. 25, 2004 – Wan Din Wan Hassan scored 78 points to win the overall title in the JTI Invitational Golf Challenge held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club recently.

In the A medal category, Pekan Ramli scored 70 points to beat Supt Ishak Husin on count back. Mohd Kairi Daud scored 70 points to win the B Medal category while Ismail Awang Senik scored 71 points to win the C Medal category.

A total of 124 golfers took part in the tournament. They included staff of the Occupational Safety and Health Department of Selangor, Fire and Rescue Department of Selangor, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, International Trade and Industry Ministry, Plantation, Industries and Commodities Ministry, Royal Malaysian Police, National Tobacco Board and Royal Malaysian Customs.

JT International Berhad managing director Ng Siew Thong said it was the third year they had organized the tournament. “The objective of the event is to foster closer ties among the senior business partners, employees and the media,” Ng added.

“We felt that golf would be a great way to get to know each other better.”
