Following recent revelations that playing pros and better amateurs are playing and getting longer driver results with higher lofted drivers, Infiniti Golf has found sales of its Propulsion 460 and Propulsion 440 HL drivers are on an upward trajectory as well.
Infiniti Golf, always a technology leader in golf clubs, introduced drivers in lofts of 12.5 and 14 degrees two years ago. “We know that when pros were getting better distances with lofts of greater than 10 degrees, amateurs could really gain from an optimal launch with a higher lofted driver,” said company president Eric Yeh. He continued, “We expect that the trend to higher lofts will be openly welcomed by consumers as they see their driving distances increase”. The company currently offers its most popular drivers in 10.5, 12.5 and 14 degree configurations. The 14 degree is called High Launch or HL.
A golfer with a swing speed of around 90 MPH could, with a launch angle of 12 degrees, gain almost 10 more yards by going from a 9 degree driver to one more than 12 degrees.
