Celebrities turn up for golf and sun on Australia's Gold Coast

Feb. 20, 2006 -- Lakelands recently rolled out the green carpet for a variety of showbiz and sporting celebrities. The likes of Rugby League legends, Gordon Tallis and Paul Vautin; Men’s World Golf number 10, Adam Scott; Australian Rocker, Jimmy Barnes and Brian and A.J from the Backstreet Boys were recently spotted tackling the championship Jack Nicklaus course.

In other celebrity news, Japan’s favourite sports star, golfing sensation Ai Miyazato, arrived on the Gold Coast earlier this month with an entourage of 70 Japanese media for the ANZ Ladies Masters Tournament.

The 20 year old superstar was officially welcomed back to Australia’s favourite holiday destination by Olympic bronze medallist and Mayor of the City of Gold Coast Cr Ron Clarke MBE, where she was presented with a gift from the city in recognition of her role in promoting Australia to Japan through participation in the ANZ Ladies Masters.
