MILLSBORO, Del. (Feb. 9, 2006) -- PGA member and professional golf instructor Troy Flateau has been named the new Director of Golf for The Peninsula, a luxury gated community featuring Delaware’s first private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The announcement was made today by developer Larry A. Goldstein.
Beginning in March 2006, Flateau’s duties will include directing and overseeing all aspects of golf operations, including the coordination of activities and relationships between residents, guests, associates and the community. He will be responsible for providing professional golf instruction and organizing member events and programs as well as ensuring maximum visitor satisfaction and financial performance.
“Troy is very talented, experienced and full of passion. His welcoming personality and high energy will provide exceptional customer service to our members and guests. We are thrilled to have him join the Peninsula team,” stated Goldstein.
For 12 years, Mr. Flateau has worked with Troon Golf, the world leader in luxury golf management. He was most recently the head golf professional at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge located near Seattle, Washington. Mr. Flateau has taught more than 2,000 private lessons and has realized great success with his teaching philosophy which emphasizes that “golf is just a game, so remember to have fun and keep it simple.”
Some of Mr. Flateau’s noteworthy accomplishments include acting as professional host for the Boeing Greater Seattle Classic Champions Tour Event, and being named a finalist for Golf Professional-of-the-Year. Under his supervision, TPC Snoqualmie Ridge won Troon Golf’s Most Improved Facility-of-the-Year and was named #1 course in the state of Washington.
The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay is Delaware’s first private gated, luxury residential golf resort, set on nearly 800 acres and surrounded by water on three sides. The centerpiece of The Peninsula will be Delaware’s first private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, managed by Troon Golf, scheduled to open in 2006.
