Waterproof golf scorecard receives high media attention

BANDON, Ore. (Jan. 14, 2006) -- Two caddies will begin their trek next week across the United States to unveil their highly anticipated waterproof scorecard at the world famous PGA Merchandising Show. The company’s products have been met very enthusiastically. Todd Petrey, a caddie and Founder of Drycard, Inc. says, “Our website went from being created to seeing hundreds of people visit our site trying to figure out exactly what all the hype is about.” The concept is quite simple, actually. Since golf is played outside, then they have invented scorecards and tournament markers (closest to the pin & long drive sheets) that can withstand water. They are so sure their DRYCARDS™ won’t deteriorate when they become wet, they have been sending out samples actually packed in water. Rushel Reed, another caddie and Founder of Drycard, Inc. explains, “My Mom gave me a vacuum sealer for Christmas and all I could think was ‘Wow, this will work GREAT for the DRYCARDS!”

Both caddies spent time in New Zealand last winter visiting and working at Kauri Cliffs and Cape Kidnappers. It was there that the idea of a waterproof scorecard became feasible. Rushel says, “The trip to New Zealand was inspirational regarding the Drycard™ material. The New Zealand dollars are indestructible. While we don’t use their currency for scorecards, it started us on the right path. Since then, we’ve been customizing the process of manufacturing.”

Drycard™ scorecards have been tested in Atlanta’s heat and the Pacific Northwest’s rain with very high marks. According to Todd, “Today we took some samples to the pro shop of Bandon Trails at Bandon Dunes Resort. I was standing there when the Head Pro asked a guy who had a tee time in the pouring rain if he wanted to use a waterproof scorecard. He said, ‘Are you serious? Heck yeah.’ He really appreciated the customer service.” Everyone who sees the scorecard at work is impressed. The first person to see Drycard™ Technology at work was Jeff Brinegar, Golf Professional at Bandon Dunes Golf Club in Bandon, Oregon. “I was actually the first person to completely submerge this scorecard and then write and erase scores while the water was still dripping from the card. It’s amazing and it’s a no-brainer! At a comparable cost and twice the performance why wouldn’t you switch to the Drycard™?”

Drycard, Inc. feels the Drycard™ Technology delivers the customer service that has been lacking from traditional, paper scorecards. Rushel clarifies, “Before Drycard™, it was frustrating to see golfers pay $200 for a round of golf, $100 for a Caddie, $500 for a driver, $1,200 for irons, plus lodging, airfare, food and see the one thing causing them stress is a .10¢ scorecard.”

The company Drycard, Inc. will be showing the World their complete product line this year at the PGA EXPO in Orlando, Florida, January 26-30 in Booth #10624. Other products using the DRYCARD™ Technology include Closest to the Pin & Long Drive Sheets, Yardage Books, Bag Tags, Luggage Tags and Scoreboard Sheets.
