AVONDALE, Pa. (Jan. 4, 2006) -- Forewinds Hospitality LLC, a division of Sawyer Realty Holdings, has announced its intentions to acquire Wentworth Hills Golf & Country Club in Plainville, Mass. Located approximately 30 miles from Boston, Mass., and 15 miles from Providence, R.I., the property includes a 6,202 yard, par 71 golf course designed by renowned New England golf course architect Howard Maurer. Completed in 2002, the course features immaculate conditions of bent grass tees and greens, a 5,600 square foot club house, full-service pro shop, grille room, meeting and banquet facilities. The club is operated as a daily fee facility with memberships.
Forewinds Hospitality bid $3.7 million for the club at a foreclosure auction held Thursday, December 29, 2005. Pending satisfaction of certain closing conditions set forth in the Purchase and Sale Agreement, Forewinds purchase of the course is expected to be finalized by January 27, 2006.

The Forewinds portfolio includes Hartefeld National Golf Club, in Avondale, Pa., featuring a public Grille & Pub destination restaurant, meeting and banquet facilities – open to the public, Mountain Branch Golf Course, a public daily-fee course and restaurant destination in Joppa, Md., and Sterling National Country Club in Sterling, Mass.
