Jan. 2, 2006 -- Golf Smarter, a weekly Podcast series, premieres this week featuring an in-depth interview with the author of Zen Golf, Dr. Joe Parent. Each Golf Smarter program will focus on strategy and course management tips for golfers of all levels and will feature a single interview with an expert from the golf industry. Host Fred Greene asks course professionals to disclose shot-by-shot tips on the most difficult holes of their course; course designers reveal their design philosophy secrets, and other PGA experts share insights on the mental side of the game.
Dr. Joe Parent, PhD in Psychology and PGA Tour Instructor, advises such pros as David Toms and Masters and PGA Champion, Vijai Singh. On this 22-minute Golf Smarter Podcast, Parent details his teaching philosophy, his PAR approach to better golf, and how best to approach an unfamiliar course.
Podcasts enable listeners to enjoy free audio programming that directly addresses their interests at their own convenience — while commuting, working out, doing chores, etc. They can pause, rewind, and listen again. A podcast is an audio mp3 file that can be downloaded to one’s computer, iPod, or other mp3 player. Once listeners subscribe to a podcast, it will automatically be downloaded to their player whenever a new episode is available. The Golf Smarter podcast is currently available on the host website http://teetour.com/podcasts/golfSmarterPodcast.html, or by subscribing to the program at podcasts.yahoo.com, podcastalley.com, odeo.com, or podcast.net.
“The ultimate goal of Golf Smarter”, said host Fred Greene, “is to make golf easier and more fun. Tommy Armour once said ‘There are no blind shots the second time you play a course’. We believe that the information you obtain from listening to Golf Smarter and watching TeeTour™ eliminates those blind shots before you walk out to a course for the first time.”
Greene Creative Services, producer of Golf Smarter, is the creator of the TeeTour™ video production service for resort and destination courses. TeeTour™ provides a shot-by-shot video guide of a course that can be offered on the property’s website, a hotel’s in-house channel, on DVD equipped golf carts, or for sale in the pro shop.
No stranger to audio syndication, Fred Greene left his position as Production Director of KSFO, San Francisco in 1986 to develop Radio Baseball Cards®, a nationally distributed radio show featuring Major League Baseball players and hosted by the late Hall of Fame pitcher, Don Drysdale. A portion of that series is part of the permanent collection at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Library. Since then, Greene Creative Services has produced customized, revenue-generating sports videos for the NFL, MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL and other sports franchises with Fantasy Play By Play®.
