The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia will hold its inaugural golf fundraising event at Mona Vale Golf Club on February 28, 2006. All golfers are invited to help make this an outstanding event.
Funds raised from the day will be used to assist the Foundation's work of limiting the impact of the disease on the Australian community, where more than 10,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year and 2,500 men die of the disease annually, figures that are identical to the incidence of breast cancer in Australia.
Details of the golf day are as follows:
Venue: Mona Vale Golf Club (Sydney's Northern Beaches)
Date: 28 February 2006.
Format: Modified Ambrose
Start times: Morning - 7.45am and Afternoon -1.00pm
Entry fee: $125pp (partially tax deductible)
Meals: Lunch (morning players), dinner (afternoon players)
The day is intended to be a fun event, with the emphasis on everyone enjoying their game in the delightful surroundings of one of Sydney's most picturesque golf courses.
As a bit of added spice there will be a special event run in conjunction with the day's general team competition for those players who have been touched by prostate cancer, called the "Survivors' Stableford". It is intended that the top-placed 15 players from this category will join similar players from other states for a national playoff to determine the champion for the year.
Golfers, this is an opportunity to play in a high-profile golf event, on a championship course set in beautiful surroundings, with the added bonus of knowing that your contribution to the day will help take the fight up to prostate cancer.
