The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology will be hosting a three day workshop January 22-25 to discuss some of the water issues facing turfgrass managers today.
"Water Quality & Quantity Issues for Turfgrasses in Urban Landscapes" will offer scientists the opportunity to present their latest findings on topics such as water policy, conservation of potable water, use of recycled water, turfgrass water use and conservation strategies, and protection of water supplies from pollutants.
The speakers will provide a science-based summary targeted to policymakers and regulators to help them understand the role and value of turfgrasses in our society and the issues and potential solutions to urban water use concerns. To encourage exploration of the issues 30 minutes will be reserved for open discussion with each individual speaker and all attendees.
The workshop will be held at The Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev. For more information contact (515) 292-2125, http://www.castwaterquality.info .
