Golf retailer 2nd Swing implementing JDA software suite

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dec. 15, 2005) -- JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) announced that 2nd Swing Inc., the largest specialty golf retailer in the United States, is implementing several JDA Portfolio(R) retail demand chain applications. The Minneapolis-based retailer with 58 stores selling new and pre-owned golf clubs and accessories will implement JDA's Portfolio Merchandise Management System-I(TM) (MMS(R)) and Performance Analysis by IDEAS(TM) software products, which it licensed in second quarter 2005 to support its profit optimization plans and create life-long customer relationships. 2nd Swing is using JDA's Total Solutions Provider (TSP) operational and hosting services to maximize resources and system performance.

2nd Swing is the only golf retailer specializing in the trade-in of pre-owned and new golf clubs from premiere brands. Remarking on how JDA's solutions will help the retailer address its unique business requirements, Darin Lynch, 2nd Swing's chief information officer, said, "JDA's solutions enable us to create a systems foundation that is flexible enough to support our complex supply and demand retail model. Furthermore, JDA is a scalable solution that will support our five-year financial plan and provide the proven functionality to help us cater to the needs of local markets."

Lynch added that the breadth of the JDA Portfolio suite of software solutions made the selection of JDA easy. "As we grow and our requirements and channels of distribution evolve, it's very appealing that we can turn to JDA to license and integrate other Portfolio solutions into the initial foundation that we will build with MMS and IDEAS(TM)."

Proven Software Functionality Will Lead to Meaningful Insight and Action

Lynch, along with other members of the 2nd Swing team, has had previous positive experience implementing JDA solutions at another retailer. "We know from personal experience that JDA lives up to its reputation for delivering a breadth of best-of-breed solutions and services that provide value and help retailers achieve success," Lynch stated.

"We expect the closed-loop capabilities of MMS and IDEAS to help us process and translate the extensive data that we have collected into meaningful insight and action. Our users will now have access to consistent, timely information, in a much more scalable and reliable IT infrastructure," added Lynch.

JDA's TSP Hosting Services Enable 2nd Swing to Focus on Core Business

2nd Swing is using JDA's TSP services to take advantage of the numerous benefits provided by JDA's full operational and hosting support.

Lynch explained, "JDA's TSP services allow us to implement faster and manage our business in a more cost-effective manner. In turn, we can better focus our IT resources on managing our core business while leveraging the technology for important business initiatives that get us closer to our customers."

Stated Joe Governale, JDA's vice president of sales, "The fact that these seasoned retail representatives have returned to JDA shows how we have become a trusted advisor to our customers. When it comes to delivering high quality software capable of addressing the needs of retailers at every point along the way, successful companies know that they can turn to JDA."
