Waiting time reduced to book the Old Course at St Andrews

ST ANDREWS, – Oct. 21, 2004 – Golfers hoping to secure a tee-time on the Old Course at St Andrews Links will no longer have to apply two years in advance. They will now be able to apply from September onwards in the year before they wish to play and will know within four weeks whether or not they have a confirmed tee-time.

"We are offering golfers a more realistic and convenient timescale which means that they do not need to plan as far ahead as before," said Peter Mason, external relations manager, St Andrews Links Trust. "The Old Course remains the course that every golfer dreams of playing and now many will find it easier to plan their once-in-a-lifetime trip."

Golfers wishing to reserve a tee-time in advance on the historic Old Course should email or fax the Links Trust on or after the first Wednesday in September for the following year. Anyone who applies earlier will be advised to re-apply in September. For further details please visit www.standrews.org.uk
