MYRTLE BEACH -- Rob Roy, superintendent at The River Club in Suwanee, Ga., survived a scorecard play-off to win his second straight and third overall Carolinas GCSA golf championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Roy shot a one-under par 71 on the Avocet Course at Wild Wing Plantation to finish tied with Chuck Green of Sage Valley Golf Club in Aiken, S.C. Roy was six-under par at one point during his round. The event included 310 golfers competing on three courses.
Larry Boswell of Carolina Turf Products in Summerfield, N.C., won the affiliate championship shooting with a 73.
The event is presented in partnership with Smith Turf and Irrigation, The Toro Co. and Toro Financing.
