AUSTIN, Texas -- Barton Creek Resort & Spa announced the 2006 dates for the Ladies-Only Two-Day School at The Chuck Cook Golf Academy.
Golf professional, Barbara Puett, recently joined The Academy, and both Cook and Puett’s expertise add to The Academy’s status as one of the nation’s premiere golf school.
Each Ladies-Only Two-Day School is limited to 12 students. The program covers all aspects of the game, with attention paid to the different priorities ladies have in playing golf. Each student receives: a Chuck Cook Golf Academy tote bag and notebook, a DVD and a group photo plus lunch and refreshments.
The typical schedule for the Ladies School includes Day 1: a presentation highlighting the differences in golf between men and women, putting, swing builders, chipping, full swing with recorded playback, and Day 2: pitching, full swing with club fitting, bunker, trouble shots, and recorded swing review. Lunch is included. Women attending the Ladies-Only Two-Day School at Barton Creek Resort & Spa can also take advantage of the full-service Spa and Salon.

The Academy features hitting bays that oversee the driving range, five short-game holes for practicing putting, chipping up to 70 yards and the sand game, the eight-camera state-of-the-art J.C. Video software that measures ball and clubhead speed, a library of over 100 professional swings for comparison, and a full-service club fitting and repairs. The Chuck Cook Golf Academy will help both novices frustrated by their handicaps and advanced players looking for an edge over their next foursome.
Instructors at the Chuck Cook Golf Academy include Cook himself, Barbara Puett, Brian Hoel, Layne Savoie, and Brech Spradley. Cook is recognized as one of the top 10 golf teachers in the U.S. and as one of the top 50 teachers of the 20th Century. Puett is a former state champion of Texas, the author of two golf books, and she writes a regular column for Texas Women’s Golf & Leisure magazine.
“Our goal is to improve the games and meet the needs of all golfers. That’s what keeps us the state’s best facility,” said Chuck Cook. “Female participation in the sport is growing in leaps and bounds and so is the demand for female golf Pros.” All instructors at the Academy have taught thousands of golfers of all abilities, and all have had the opportunity to teach, coach, or play at the highest levels.
