Dubai's Desert Course to hold Al Futtaim event

DUBAI, – Oct. 19, 2004 – The Desert Course, Arabian Ranches, will host second event of a series of tournaments, sponsored by Al Futtaim Motors for Arabian Ranches home owners and their guests on October 23.

This month’s event is a team scramble, the exciting format allows teams to go for broke and challenge the Desert Course and the shotgun begins at 1.00pm.

Entry fee is Dh295 per player including green fees, cart, range balls and tournament prizes. Interested teams may contract Elliott Gray or Sandy Meyer on 04-8846777.

Meanwhile, some of the finest junior golfers in the region will contest the inaugural Junior Challenge being organised by the Desert Course, Arabian Ranches in association with Pocari Sweat on October 22.

The tournament will be run in conjunction with the UGA and forms part of the Junior Order of Merit 2004/05.

There are four handicap divisions along with a girls’ division, with fantastic prizes on offer for the winners. The tournament is open to all junior golfers.
