The Cheap Bastard loves Texas. They're a rugged, different type of breed in the Lone Star State, and when you see the famous people like Tommy Tune and Mary Kay Ash who called Texas home, you really can get a sense of that ruggedness.

But here we are nearing the middle of November, and the air is cool and crisp in such towns as Austin, where the golf is cheap and the armadillos aren't rabid.

It's a deal good enough to keep the course busy, as normally hardworking Texans shed their responsibilities for a late-season round of golf.
