The American Society of Golf Course Architects is releasing an updated version of its frequently-requested brochure, Golf Course Development Planning Guide.
Renamed as The Golf Course Development Process: Questions and Answers, the four-page brochure is a helpful resource for anyone taking the first steps to develop a new golf course.
It covers the key components involved in a new course project, including proper site selection, project feasibility, a guide to finding assistance and the development process steps. Municipal officials, investors, members of review boards, golf professionals, course superintendents, course owners and other interested parties will benefit from the updated brochure and its complete coverage of the beginning steps in the development process.
"This planning guide is an excellent primer for anyone seriously interested in developing a new course project," says Tom Marzolf, ASGCA president. "It sheds much needed light on a complicated process that developers and investors too often take for granted. Proper planning can save a lot of headaches and troubles down the road."
The brochure may be obtained free of charge by calling (262) 786-5960, or by e-mail from info@asgca.org.
