AUSTIN, Texas -- The Barton Creek Invitational presented by GolfQ.com will offer amateur players an opportunity to compete against some of the top players in Texas.
The event will be held at Barton Creek Resort & Spa December 2 - 4, 2005 and players will compete on two of the top award winning golf courses in Texas - Fazio Foothills and Fazio Canyons, as well as Crenshaw Cliffside.
GolfQ.com is a web site by golfers for golfers--people who play golf with a passion. The three-day event will feature 54-hole individual stroke play with the first round played on Friday afternoon on the Crenshaw course. After round two on the Canyons course, the field will be flighted based on the gross two day scores. The final day’s pairings will be made by score and participants will compete against individuals within the flight. The final round on the Foothills course (round three on Sunday) will be contested within flights, with 16 players in the Championship Flight, and 8 players in all other flights.
Participants can take advantage of a specially priced package designed for this event at Barton Creek Resort & Spa. The package includes: two nights accommodations, breakfast daily; greens fee, shared cart, and use of the range for Friday, Saturday and Sunday tournament rounds; Friday evening - welcome with heavy hors d'oeuvres cocktail reception; awards luncheon - following play Sunday, tournament favors; and awards and prizes. Tournament administration, course preparation, and scoring will be performed by Barton Creek Resort & Spa golf staff. Rates for this event are as follows: single occupancy - $697 plus tax; double occupancy - $574 per person plus tax; and spouse may be added to the single participant package rate for $135 plus tax.
