Sonartec wins Bridgestone Open in Japan

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Sonartec congratulates the winner of the Bridgestone Open, New Zealander David Smail.

The Champion shot a 16-under-par 272 on his way to earning his second win of the 2005 Japan PGA season. Sonartec has now earned seven wins in Japan in 2005, giving them a total of 16 worldwide wins for the year. The Champion, who currently ranks third on the season money list, earned both of his wins while playing a Sonartec three wood.

Sonartec is a Carlsbad, California-based fairway wood and hybrid specialist. Sonartec's SS-series fairway woods have garnered top honors from several industry testing agencies including GolfTest USA, Pub Links Golfer Magazine and PGA Tour Partners. Their Md hybrid transition club, which is the second most-played hybrid on the PGA Tour (2004-2005), was awarded the "Tester's Top Choice" in Golf Magazine's 2005 Club Test issue.
