Ocean Hammock Resort names new superintendent

PALM COAST, Fla., – Oct. 18, 2004 – Todd McKibben, a 14-year veteran of the golf industry, has been named golf course superintendent at Ocean Hammock Resort, a property managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts.

McKibben is responsible for maintenance and agronomics at Ocean Hammock Golf
Club, an award winning, oceanfront layout designed by Jack Nicklaus. “We are thrilled to have someone with Todd’s knowledge, experience and golf course management background as part of our resort family,” said Gregg Harper, general manager of The Lodge at Ocean Hammock and Ocean Hammock Golf Club.

A 10-year Class-A member of the Superintendent Association of America, McKibben holds a degree in golf course operations from Lake City Community College, Lake City, Fla. McKibben was previously the golf course superintendent at Sunbeam Hills Golf Course, in Jacksonville, Fla. He also has held other golf course superintendent positions, including three years at Ponce de Leon Golf Club, in St. Augustine, Fla., where he worked side-by-side with golf professional Mary Hafeman. McKibben is now reunited with Hafeman, head golf professional at Ocean Hammock GC.

Since opening in 2001, Ocean Hammock GC, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design, has earned the distinction as one of America’s 10 “Best New Upscale” courses open to the public, according to Golf Digest, and has been ranked once again this year among Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 You Can Play.”
