Oct. 18, 2004 – The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation has been recognized as one of the "Top 75 Golf Resorts" in the October issue of Golf Digest. To determine the Top 75, the Golf Digest Editorial Board sent ballots listing 225 of the most highly regarded golf resorts to experts on a course rating panel. These authorities graded resorts on a scale of one (very bad) to 10 (absolutely perfect), basing scores on overall atmosphere, amenities and service. Average scores were converted to a 100-point scale and ranked accordingly.

Designed by Rees Jones, the par-72, 6,702-yard Oconee course presents a risk/reward design, often forcing golfers to choose between direct tee shots over inlets of Lake Oconee and long drives down tree-lined, dog-leg fairways. The par-72, 6,545-yard Great Waters -- the Jack Nicklaus Signature Design -- winds through densely wooded evergreen corridors opening to nine holes played lakeside. With a 6,698-yard, par-72 layout, the Plantation course features wide fairways and careful bunker placement, offering a more relaxing and forgiving course for golfers of all experience levels.
